The Press is dedicated to and under the spiritual patronage of St. Theodore-Mystyslav of Kiev. During the Norman Invasion, his mother, the daughter of Harold the Last Orthodox King of England, escaped the Isles taking safe haven in Orthodox Kiev. There she married and bore a son whom she named Theodore-Harold. St Theodore is a fine ethnic representative of both the Orthodox West & East. Journal for an Orthodox Christian Psychology - to distill, express and disseminate information and articles within the realm of Orthodox Theology that presents the true sense of a genuine "Psychology". It is our hope that such an "Orthodox Christian Psychology" shall prove useful in the therapeutic milieu beyond that of pastor/parishioner or the elder/monk relationships. These dyads of helping transcend the clinician/client relationship that secular psychology has so often led astray. As for the Therapy of such an Orthodox Psychology, we may be open to the integration of modalities and techniques from various post-Freudian systems, in particularly those of the Existential Psychotherapies. Such labor as this is akin to the Early Church Father's adaptation and transformation of ancient Greek Philosophies. External LinkEmerge! Forum for an Orthodox Christian Psychology - an online forum where the issues and subjects of "an Orthodox Christian Psychology" can be discussed and hammered out towards a concise Orthodox theology of human psychology and its methodological therapy. This Forum is hosted on Yahoo! Groups discussion environment. The Milan Journal of Orthodox Pastoral Care - An online journal by and for the clergy, monastics and ministering laity in the Archdiocese of New York & New Jersey (Synod of Milan) addressing all aspects of Pastoral Care, its Scriptural and Patristic foundation, its traditional theology and practice in the 21st century America, Serbia, South Africa and Western Europe faithful . The Silent Revolution Newsletter - an irregularly published internet newsletter of the St. John Theologian Orthodox Hermitage. The vision and focus of Silent Revolution is in the belief that all true Orthodox Christians, regardless of their vocation, must be engaged in the very real spiritual and social battle against the immaterial and material forces whose aim is our separation from the Source of Life, our Heavenly Father through His Son our Lord Christ Jesus and His Ever-holy Spirit. This is an all out war, no less than –though with greater stakes– that of a national military action. It is truly a revolution, an overthrow of the powers, thrones and principalities of the evil one that seek to influence us directly and lure us through popular culture. All God-loving true Orthodox Christians must be actively engaged in this spiritual and cultural warfare. It is a silent revolution because the battleground is within. It is our heart, the seat of our soul, where we must fight to regain control and to give it over to the Divine Sovereignty of God Himself. As the Sacred Scriptures says we must, take the Kingdom of God by violence of ascetical labors, prayer, service to God by helping those in need. Oblation - Online manual and Newsletter serving the Oblates of St. Benedict (Lay Benedictines) of our Orthodox Church jurisdiction. The Kellion blog - A place for interesting articles on Orthodox monasticism and Christian lifestyle as well as Sermons and spiritual lessons from the Hermitage. The Inner Room - subtitled, Contemplative and Existential Ramblings of a Soul This is a blog of our Father Stavrophoremonk Symeon, founder of The Hermitage of St. John the Theologian.
